Romania's consumer price index rose 1.8 percent year-on-year in April, the National Institute of Statistics said Friday.
Food prices declined 1.94 percent annually, while there was a 3.21 percent increase in prices of non-food articles. Service costs jumped 6.03 percent from last year.
On a monthly basis, the CPI was up 0.07 percent. Excluding some food articles, fuel and those items whose prices are regulated, the price index gained 0.21 percent from the preceding month.
