Yahoo! Inc. (YHOO) is rising 2 percent to $15.53. The company announced that its Chief Executive Officer Scott Thompson has resigned from the position and as a director of the company, as he was found to have embellished his academic credentials.

Francesca's Holdings Corp. (FRAN) is up more than 6 percent to $25.60. The company announced that it has terminated for cause the employment of Chief Financial Officer Gene Morphis. The company said it has found that he improperly communicated company information through social media. At the same time, the company also raised its first quarter earnings per diluted share guidance.

Chesapeake Energy Corp. (CHK) is gaining 5 percent to $15.52. There are reports that Carl Icahn will be disclosing his stake in the company.
