EU harmonized inflation in Slovakia weakened in April, data released by the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic showed Wednesday.
The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) increased 3.7 percent annually in April, slower than the 3.9 percent growth seen in March. In February, the inflation rate was 2.5 percent.
Food and non-alcoholic beverages prices rose 2.9 percent year-on-year, while clothing and footwear prices advanced 2 percent. There was a 5.3 percent annual increase in housing costs and utility prices during the month, and a 7.9 percent gain in transportation costs.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices moved up 0.2 percent in April, following the previous month's 0.3 percent growth.
