Taiwan April Export Orders Decline Unexpectedly

Taiwan's export orders declined unexpectedly in April reflecting weak demand in major sectors, data from the Ministry of Economic Affairs showed Monday.

Export orders were down 3.52 percent from a year ago, while economists were looking for a 0.51 percent rise.

Month-on-month, overall orders dropped 5.95 percent largely due to decline in demand for chemical, textile, and electronic products.
