Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (CZMWF.PK) said it presented Fluorescence Technology for intraoperative analysis of blood flow in skin and muscle tissue graft surgery. The company will present INFRARED 800 and FLOW 800 Fluorescence Modules at the upcoming meeting of the European Association of Plastic Surgeons 2012.
The INFRARED 800 and FLOW 800 fluorescence modules from Carl Zeiss Meditec enable neurosurgeons to interpret the speed and direction of the blood flow precisely and quickly during surgery. This technology is also available for plastic & reconstructive surgery in the assessment of viable tissue useful in graft surgery.
This technological advancement enables surgeons to evaluate tissue grafts perfusion before transplantation. Vascular occlusions become visible within a few seconds and can be immediately treated intraoperatively.
At the meeting, taking place from May 24 to 28, 2012 in Munich, Germany, Carl Zeiss will present to the medical community this innovative fluorescence technology on its surgical microscope platform, OPMI PENTERO 900.
