Amylin Pharmaceuticals Inc. (AMLN) traded in a narrow range until around 2:00PM Friday, but rose steadily for the remainder of the afternoon. The stock ended the session higher by 2.16 at $27.96 on above average volume.
Amylin Pharmaceuticals closed challenging the upper end of a week and a half long range at the highs of the year. There were unconfirmed reports late Friday afternoon that both Merck and Sanofi have made offers to acquire the company.
