Gail (India) Ltd. reported fourth-quarter net profit of Rs.483.34 crore, down from Rs.783.07 crore for the quarter ended March 31 last year. Total income increased to Rs.10,718.28 crore from the Rs.8,961.41 crore for the corresponding quarter in the preceding year.
The company's board recommended a final dividend of Rs.5.70 per equity share of Rs.10 each for the fiscal year 2012.
At the BSE, Gail India closed Wednesday's trading at Rs.323.80, down 1.76 percent from the previous close.
