EnerSys (ENS) reported fourth quarter adjusted EPS of $0.98 after the close Tuesday, compared to $0.75 in the prior year period. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.82. First quarter adjusted EPS is expected to be between $0.88 and $0.92, compared to the consensus estimate of $0.77.
EnerSys rose steadily during the first hour of trade Wednesday, but settled into a range for the remainder of the session. The stock closed up by 1.92 at $33.39, with volume at over a 3 1/2 month high. EnerSys climbed to a 2 1/2 week high and re-crossed its 50-day moving average.
