A US drone strike on Sunday is reported to have killed at least 10 suspected militants in Mana Raghzai village, around the northwest tribal region of Pakistan. The missiles fired from the drones hit a house and an unidentified vehicle in Wacha Dana town, some 10 kilometers from Wana in South Waziristan, close to the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.
Among those killed in the early morning strike at the hideout are suspected to be two key commanders of the Taliban. It is believed the militants had gathered at the house to condole the death of another militant commander killed yesterday in a similar drone attack.
Reports suggest about four missiles targeted a compound used by militants, which was completely destroyed. Eyewitnesses say at least two drones were involved in the strike and four more hovering around the area. Two missiles hit a car which was also completely destroyed killing the occupants.
Four people were killed in a drone attack on Saturday in the Sheen Warsak area of Burmal district in the northwest region of Pakistan.
The drone attacks have been a bone of contention between Pakistan and the US, straining relations. The Pakistanis have been protesting against such drone attacks stating that such act violates its sovereignty.
