Medifast Inc. (MED) announced a strategic partnership with Productos Medix S.A. de C.V. The agreement grants Medix an exclusive license for the distribution of Medifast meal replacement products and programs through physicians and Weight Control Centers in Mexico under the Medifast Brand.
Medifast said that Medix plans to work with its extensive physician network while it also opens approximately 30 Weight Control Centers over the next two years.
With this partnership, Medifast plans to expand its Medifast Weight Control Centers, which provide clinically-focused, one-on-one counseling to Center members, along with its network of physicians, which will offer the program to their patients.
