BoJ Rate Decision On Tap For Friday

The Bank of Japan will on Friday conclude its two-day monetary policy meeting and then announce its decision on interest rates. No change is expected from the current level of 0.10 percent, although the bank may introduce additional easing measures.

The Philippines will provide unemployment data for the first quarter of 2012; the unemployment rate was 7.2 percent in the previous three months, while the participation rate came in at 64.3 percent.

Singapore will release retail sales data for April, with forecasts suggesting an increase of 0.3 percent on month and 3.0 percent on year. That follows the 1.6 percent monthly gain and the 9.1 percent annual surge in March.

New Zealand will see the May results of the Business NZ Performance of Manufacturing Index (48 in April), as well as the ANZ consumer confidence index for June (-0.1 percent on month in May to 113.9).
