Starcore International Mines Ltd. (SAM.TO) Friday reported a third quarter profit of C$4.17 million or C$0.03 per share, compared to a loss of C$1.0 million or C$0.01 per share in the prior-year period.
Third-quarter profit was helped mainly by a C$1.93 million gain in financing costs, due to gains from the company's gold forward sales contracts. Earnings from mining operations were C$5.0 million, compared to C$5.16 million last year.
Revenues for the quarter totaled C$14.0 million, up from C$13.86 million last year.
