During New York mid-day trading on Friday, the British pound advanced further against other major opponents. The sterling climbed to new multi-day highs of 1.4898 against the franc and 0.8066 versus the euro at around 12:15 pm ET, which may be compared to Thursday's close of 1.4799 and 0.8120, respectively.
Against its Japanese counterpart, the pound edged up in today's mid-day deals from early morning session's 1-week low of 122.17. Presently, the pair is trading at 123.18.
