Samsung Wins Copyright Suit Against Apple

Samsung has won a lawsuit against Apple in which they claimed that the American tech giant infringed on copyrights surrounding their 3G technology. The news broke on June 20 via Dutch tech blog AllAboutPhones, and Samsung was quick to release a statement praising the decision.

The Korean tech firm's court victory came in the Netherlands' District Court of The Hague. And they took the opportunity to blast Apple for using their technology and says they will seek compensation:

"Samsung welcomes the Court's ruling, which reaffirms Apple's free-riding of our technological innovation," the company said. "In accordance with the ruling, we will seek adequate compensation for the damages Apple and its products have caused."

The devices using Samsung's technology include iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4, and iPad 1 and 2. Apple will be responsible to pay damages on any devices using Samsung's patent titled "EP1188269," but they will not be required to pull those products from the market.
