China Expels Former Vice-Provincial Governor From Party

Former Vice-Governor of east China's Shandong province, Huang Sheng, has been expelled from the Communist Party of China (CPC) for serious disciplinary and legal violations, the CPC's disciplinary watchdog said on Monday.

He was also dismissed from all government posts by the State Council, CPC's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) said in a statement.

Huang has been found using his position to promote the interests of others taking a large amount of bribe and causing massive economic losses, the statement quoted by the state media said.

Huang's illegal gains will be confiscated and his case has been referred to prosecutors, according to the CCDI which described him as "morally corrupted."
