Barrick Gold Corp. (ABX, ABX.TO) said it has named Ammar Al-Joundi as its Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective July 10, 2012. Al-Joundi has over 20 years of experience in corporate finance and banking within the mining industry, with extensive expertise in capital markets, business strategy, financial controls and mine operations.
Prior to joining Agnico-Eagle Mines Ltd. as Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer in September 2010, Al-Joundi spent 11 years at Barrick, and was a key member of the company's finance team.
