Retail sales in Latvia increased in May after falling in the previous month, data released by Statistics Latvia showed Friday.
Retail sales, including automotive fuel, increased a seasonally adjusted 2.1 percent in May, reversing the previous month's 2.1 percent decrease.
Sales of food products rose 3.1 percent month-on-month, while sales of non-food products excluding automotive fuel advanced 2.2 percent. Meanwhile, there was a 0.3 percent decrease in sales of automotive fuel during the month.
Year-on-year, retail sales advanced 7.4 percent during the month, slightly slower than the previous month's 7.5 percent gain.
