Gainers:
Brightpoint, Inc. (CELL) is jumping 64 percent to $8.86. Ingram Micro Inc. (IM) has agreed to acquire the company for $9 per share in cash. The transaction is valued at about $840 million, including estimated net debt of $190 million on June 30. Ingram Micro expects this transaction to be accretive to earnings per share by at least 18 cents in 2013 and 35 cents in 2014, excluding one-time charges and integration costs. IM is down over 3 percent to $16.86.
Lincare Holdings Inc. (LNCR) is gaining 21 percent to $41.16. Germany's Linde AG (LNAGF.PK, LNEGY.PK) has agreed to buy the company for $41.50 per share in an all-cash deal of about $4.6 billion.
Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (AMLN) is rising 9 percent to $30.77. Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. (BMY) has agreed to acquire the company for $31 per share in cash for a purchase price of about $5.3 billion.
Trading halt:
Trading in shares of P.F. Chang's China Bistro, Inc. (PFCB) was halted. Centerbridge Partners, L.P. affiliate has successfully completed the tender offer for all outstanding shares of the company.
Trading in shares of NPS Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NPSP) was halted. The company announced that it has amended its license agreement with Amgen (AMGN) for royalties from sales of cinacalcet HCl.
Trading in shares of Quest Software Inc. (QSFT) was halted. Dell (DELL) has agreed to acquire the company for $28.00 per share in cash for an aggregate purchase price of approximately $2.4 billion, net of cash and debt. Dell is up nearly 1 percent to $12.63.
