Acuity Brands Inc. (AYI) reported third quarter adjusted EPS of $0.82 Monday morning, which topped the consensus estimate of $0.78.
Acuity Brands gapped up Monday and spiked higher in early trade. The stock took out the session highs around midday and closed up by 8.06 at $58.97 on strong volume. Acuity Brands broke out to a 3-month high and re-crossed both its 50 and 200-day moving averages.
