Extending Asian session's rally, the Canadian dollar climbed to a new 1-1/2-month high of 78.71 against the Japanese yen at 4:05 am ET Tuesday. The next upside target level for the loonie is seen at 79.00. The pair ended Monday's deals at 78.20.
