Retail sales in Slovakia increased in May partly reversing previous month's decline, data from the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic showed Wednesday.
Sales excluding trade in motor vehicles rose 0.6 percent year-on-year in May following a 1.9 percent fall in April. There was also an increase of 0.6 percent in sales on a monthly basis.
The year-on-year development was affected by a higher turnover in retail sale of automotive fuel in specialized stores and retail trade in non-specialized stores.
Sale and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles increased 9.3 percent annually and rose 1.7 percent compared to the previous month.
