Starbucks Corp. (SBUX) on Monday announced the global debut of handcrafted and ready-to-drink Starbucks Refreshers beverages, made from green coffee extract and real fruit juice.
The beverages will be available in Very Berry Hibiscus and Cool Lime flavours at participating Starbucks stores in the U.S. and Canada, as well as 15 international markets. Starbucks noted that the green coffee extract used in the beverages is made from Arabica beans, resulting in low calorie
refreshment with a boost of caffeine.
Cliff Burrows, President of Starbucks Americas said, "The introduction of Starbucks Refreshers instant beverage platform, featuring green coffee extract, is an innovative extension of the coffee market and is the perfect solution for customers looking for a boost of natural energy and thirst quenching, delicious refreshment."
The fifteen international markets where the beverages make its debut are Brazil, UK/Ireland, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, China, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong.
Starbucks also announced the launch of Starbucks VIA Refreshers instant beverages, the latest innovation of the Starbucks VIA Ready Brew Portfolio.
The instant beverages will also be available in Very Berry Hibiscus and Cool Lime flavours at Starbucks stores in the U.S. and Starbucksstore.com for $5.95 per 5-pack.
SBUX closed Monday's trading at $52.39, up $0.42 or 0.81 percent on a volume of 4.66 million shares.
