Italy's exports grew 1.4 percent month-on-month in May, taking the annual growth to 4.8 percent, the statistical office Istat said Monday.
At the same time, imports rose 0.9 percent on month, while it fell 4.5 percent from the prior year.
The trade balance showed a surplus of EUR 1.008 billion in May. The surplus with EU nations totaled EUR 691 million and trade with non-EU countries resulted in a surplus of EUR 316 million.
