Poland's Industrial Output Grows Less Than Expected

Poland's industrial production grew less than economists' expected for June, the Central Statistical Office reported Wednesday.

Industrial output was up 1.2 percent in June from a year ago, well below the expected rate of growth of 4.1 percent.

Within overall output, mining and quarrying production declined 4.5 percent, while manufacturing grew 1.8 percent. Output of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply dipped 3.9 percent.

Month-on-month, industrial production slipped 2 percent, while economists were forecasting a 0.9 percent rise.
