Poland's core inflation remained unchanged in June, contrary to economists' forecast for a modest increase, data released by the National Bank of Poland showed Friday.
Core inflation, net of food and energy prices, remained unchanged at 2.3 percent in June, while economists expected it to increase to 2.4 percent.
Month-on-month, core consumer prices edged up 0.1 percent in June, after holding flat in the previous month. Economists had forecast prices to rise 0.2 percent, data showed.
Poland's consumer price inflation had accelerated notably to 4.3 percent in June from 3.6 percent in May. Sequentially, consumer prices rose 0.2 percent, as they did in the previous month.
