Manufacturing activity in China contracted at a slower pace in July, the flash survey results from Markit Economics showed Tuesday.
The purchasing managers' index scored 49.5 in July, up from 48.2 in June. Despite the improvement, the reading below 50 suggested contraction in the sector.
Meanwhile, the flash manufacturing output index rebounded to a nine-month high of 51.2 in July from 49.3 in June. The reading above 50 suggested expansion.
