Gartner Inc. (IT) reported second quarter net income of $0.43 per share Friday morning, up from $0.32 per share in the prior year period. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.41. The company also reiterated its full year EPS forecast of $1.63 to $1.79. The consensus estimate is for EPS of $1.72.
Gartner spiked to the upside at the open Friday, but settled into a range for the majority of the session. The stock closed higher by 2.30 at $46.84 on above average volume. Gartner broke out of a one-month range and set a new high for the year.
