BCE Inc. (BCE) reported second quarter adjusted earnings of C$1.02 per share up from C$0.86 per share in the year-ago quarter. The consensus estimate was for C$0.81 per share. The company also increased its full year adjusted earnings forecast to between C$3.15 and C$3.20 per share from its prior forecast of C$3.13 to C$3.18 per share. The consensus estimate is for earnings of C$3.16 per share.
BCE gapped open higher Wednesday and has continued to gain ground in early trade. The stock is now up 1.62 at $44.95 and has set its second consecutive new high for the year.
