Stifel Financial Corp. (SF) Wednesday said its second-quarter profit surged, helped mainly by higher revenues.
Net income for the quarter increased to $26.1 million or $0.42 per share from $3.4 million or $0.05 per share in the same period last year.
On average, eight analysts expected the company to earn $0.52 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Revenues totaled $374.4 million, up 4.3 percent from $358.9 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of $380.26 million.
