Netherlands' merchandise trade surplus increased from last year in June, data released by the Central Bureau of Statistics showed Friday.
The trade surplus increased by EUR0.9 billion from last year to EUR3.7 billion in June, data showed.
Export of goods increased 8 percent on an annual basis to EUR35.9 billion during the month. The value of imports was higher by 6 percent compared to June 2011, and reached EUR32.1 billion.
In volume terms, shipments grew a calendar-adjusted 4 percent year-on-year in June, after rising 9 percent in May. The volume of imports advanced 3 percent annually, slower than May's 6 percent.
In June, export values of raw materials and mineral fuels were substantially higher compared to last year. Imports of machinery and transport equipment showed a strong increase, the agency said.
