France payroll employment in principally market sectors declined 0.1 percent in the second quarter, final data from the statistical office Insee showed Tuesday. That follows a 0.1 percent rise in the first quarter.
The number of employed fell by 22,400 from a quarter ago after increasing 22,800 in the previous quarter. Excluding temporary work, employment decreased by 3,500.
Employment in manufacturing was down 9,200 and that in services dropped by 7,900. The decline in construction totaled 6,800 in the second quarter.
