The company has reached multiple deals to sell the vast majority of its Permian properties, substantially all of its midstream assets and certain noncore leasehold, for about $6.9 billion. The company plans to use a portion of the proceeds to fully repay its $4.0 billion of term loans during the 2012 fourth quarter.

Decliners:

Globecomm Systems Inc. (GCOM) is plunging 19 percent to $10.80. The company forecast full year 2013 earnings per share and revenues sharply below Wall Street view. The company noted that fiscal 2013 will be a challenge to improve on its fiscal 2012 results, due to the uncertainty surrounding the U.S. Government's budget environment, including reduced Afghanistan commitment.

Xyratex Ltd. (XRTX) is falling 16 percent to $9.04 as the company lowered its third quarter revenue outlook. The company noted that its preliminary financial results for the quarter reflect reduced demand from a number of its large OEM customers in Enterprise Data Storage Solutions segment.

Trading halt:

Trading in shares of Oncolytics Biotech Inc. (ONCY) was halted. The company provided an update on its Phase III trial of REOLYSIN in combination with carboplatin and paclitaxel for the treatment of head and neck cancers. The company said it was observed that patients for whom only metastatic disease was being measured by clinicians, were responding differently to treatment than patients who had local regional head and neck disease. The company plans to expand enrollment in the first stage of the study.
