Ireland's merchandise trade surplus increased from the previous month in July as exports grew at a faster rate than imports, preliminary data released by the Central Statistics Office showed Friday.
The seasonally adjusted trade surplus increased 12.6 percent to EUR3.92 billion in July from EUR3.49 billion in June. In May, the trade balance was a surplus of EUR3.46 billion.
Export of goods increased a seasonally adjusted 6 percent sequentially to EUR7.93 billion during the month.
The value of imports advanced modestly by 0.4 percent month-on-month to EUR4 billion. Year-on-year, on an unadjusted basis, imports advanced 8 percent, data showed.
