Australia's Imports Of Goods Decline In August

Australia's imports of goods decreased by seasonally adjusted A$373 million to A$21.24 billion in August, data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics showed Tuesday.

Intermediate and other merchandise goods fell A$360 million or 4 percent, driven by the fuels and lubricants component. Meanwhile, consumption goods rose A$107 million or 2 percent and capital goods rose A$10 million.

On an unadjusted term, merchandise imports grew 6 percent or A$1.17 billion in August.
