Chevrolet To Announce 2014 Corvette In January

Chevrolet announced that the 2014 Corvette reveal is slated for January 13 during the press previews for the Detroit auto show. The automaker has not leaked any pics of the new whip, but has unveiled the logo, a crossed flag affair which has been redesigned for the seventh gen Vette.

According to Auto Evolution, the updated Vette, also known as the C7, will have a smaller engine (5.5 liters) in order to cut down on gas usage. The C6, conversely, boasts a 6 liter V8 with 400 horsies. The C6 arrived at car dealer lots in 2004.

Regarding the exterior styling, Chevy said the new design has a "more technical, more angular and more swept appearance - in proportion that symbolizes the new car."

Since the debut of the model in 1953, the automaker has sold over 1.5 million of car.
