Rollins Inc. (ROL), a provider of pest and termite control services, Wednesday reported higher third-quarter profit driven by higher revenues from customer services. Earnings met the Street estimates.
For the quarter, net income edged up 9.5% to $32.2 million or $0.22 per share from $29.4 million or $0.20 per share during the corresponding quarter last year.
On average 4 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings to be $0.22 per share. Analyst estimates typically exclude one-time items.
Revenue for the quarter stood at $340.2 million surpassing analyst estimates and up 5% over the prior-year third quarter's revenue of $323.9 million. Analysts on average expected revenue to be $338.7 million.
The company also announced a quarterly cash dividend of 8 cents a share in addition to a special year-end dividend of 12 cents a share, both payable December 10 to stockholders of record on November 9.
Tuesday the stock closed at $22.43 on the NYSE.
