Martin Marietta Materials Inc. (MLM) posted third-quarter net earnings attributable to the company of $62.9 million or $1.36 per share compared to $49.2 million or $1.07 per share a year ago.
Total revenues for the three-month period improved to $593.9 million from $502.4 million in the same quarter a year earlier.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $1.26 per share on revenues of $576.22 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
