South Korea's short-term external debt declined by $8.1 billion to $132.6 billion during the quarter ended September largely reflecting repayment by banks, the Bank of Korea said Tuesday.
Meanwhile, long-term debt increased $11.7 billion to $286.7 billion.
As of the end of September, the outstanding amount of Korea's external assets in debt instruments totaled $526.6 billion, an increase of $17.9 billion from the end of June.
