Shoe Carnival Inc. (SCVL) announced that it has appointed Carl Scibetta as Executive Vice President and General Merchandise Manager, effective December 3, 2012. Scibetta will take over the responsibilities as General Merchandise Manager from Cliff Sifford, who was recently appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company.
Scibetta joins Shoe Carnival with over 32 years of experience in the footwear industry. Most recently, Scibetta served as Belk's Vice President, Divisional Merchandise Manager, Footwear, at its headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina. During his years with Belk, Scibetta served in a variety of positions of increasing responsibility, including Divisional Merchandise Manager and Buyer, before becoming its Vice President and Divisional Merchandise Manager in 2008.
From 2004 to 2007, Scibetta served as Parisian's Vice President and Divisional Merchandise Manager, Footwear, and from 1998 to 2000, he served as Vice President and Divisional Merchandise Manager with the Shoe Corporation of America.
