Aegon N.V. (AEG, AGN.L) Wednesday announced and agreement to acquire Ukraine-based insurance company Fidem Life from Horizon Capital.
The acquisition helps Aegon to strengthen its position in the developing Central and Eastern European market.
Upon acquisition Fidem Life will be rebranded "Aegon Ukraine" and will be integrated into the governance and management structure of Aegon CEE.
The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2013, pending regulatory approval.
