National Interstate Corp. (NATL) Thursday said it has named Tony Mercurio as its Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, effective January 1, 2013.
Mercurio is currently CEO of National Interstate's insurance subsidiary, Vanliner Insurance Co.
In his new role Mercurio will be responsible for overseeing all products and for achieving sales and underwriting profit objectives.
