South Korea Unemployment Rate Remains At 3%

Unemployment rate in South Korea remained unchanged at 3 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis in November, a report from Statistics Korea showed Wednesday.

The unadjusted rate was also steady at 2.8 percent compared to the previous month. The number of unemployed fell 2.6 percent year-on-year to 710,000. In October, there were 718,000 unemployed in the country.

Meanwhile, employment rose 1.4 percent annually to 24.9 million in November. The rate of increase, however, was slower than 1.6 percent gain reported in October.
