Alterra Capital Holdings (ALTE) announced Wednesday morning that it agreed to be acquired by Markel Corp. (MKL) for approximately $3.13 billion.
Alterra Capital has gapped open dramatically higher Wednesday and is now up 6.15 at $69.30 on above average volume. The stock has leaped to a new high for the year.
