Cal-Maine Foods (CALM) reported second quarter net income of $0.60 per share Monday morning, down from $0.97 per share a year ago. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.90. Net sales climbed to $328.87 million from last year's $290.37 million.
Cal-Maine Foods gapped open sharply lower Monday, but traded in a range throughout the session. Shares finished down by 4.24 at $40.22 on the highest volume of the year. The stock dropped to nearly a 4-month low.
