Siemens Presents Waterproof Hearing Aid

Hearing Aid equipment has always been a little on the delicate side, requiring users to take extra care of their equipment. Owing to this, users have always been deprived of an active lifestyle. One of the greatest shortcomings of the modern day device is its problems with humidity. To counter this, Siemens has gone ahead to introduce the world's first waterproof hearing aid, Aquaris. The device is capable of working with stability in depths as great as three feet under water.

Other features of the device include connectivity to a Bluetooth remote that can stream audio right into it, so that the user could listen to music .

The company released survey results which showed that among 500 patients, who use hearing aid devices, 17 percent were forced to be not so active to avoid any damage to the device. While it doesn't seem to be a big problem in older age groups, hearing-impaired youngsters and others who are employed have been the most affected.

The device is priced $2,500, per ear, with charges varying based on custom fitting services and requirements.
