Booker Group plc (BOK.L), in its third-quarter interim management statement, posted a 3.1% year-on-year growth in total sales, excluding Makro, with non-tobacco sales being 4.2% higher, and tobacco sales up 1.3%. On a like-for-like basis, total sales improved 3.1%, non-tobacco sales rose by 4.1% and tobacco sales by 1.3%.
The company's cash and carry unit, Booker Wholesale, had a good quarter, with customer satisfaction improving further, as well as customer numbers rising and sales in line with view. Fresh departments continued to perform well, with fruit and vegetable sales up 30% on the prior year.
Booker Group said the outlook for profits and net cash for the year remains in line with expectations.
