Danish Retail Sales Fall In December

Retail sales in Denmark declined marginally in December, data published by Statistics Denmark showed Tuesday.

Sales fell 0.1 percent month-on-month in December, following a 0.6 percent growth in November and a 0.7 percent drop in October.

Sales of food and other groceries fell 0.4 percent month-on-month in December. Sales of clothing and other accessories rose 2.4 percent, while spending on other consumer goods was 0.4 percent less than a month earlier.

Year-on-year, total retail sales declined 3.5 percent, faster than a 0.4 percent drop in November and a 1.8 percent slump in October.
