Lithuania's industrial production increased strongly in December, data released by the Department of Statistics showed Tuesday.
Industrial production rose a working-day adjusted 9 percent year-on-year in December. Manufacturing output increased 9.7 percent annually.
Mining and quarrying output was 3 percent higher and output of utilities rose 4.7 percent compared to last year, data showed.
Among major industrial groups, energy output advanced 15.7 percent and production of capital goods rose by 7.3 percent. Intermediate goods production increased by 0.7 percent, while output of durable and non-durable goods went up 1.6 percent and 5.5 percent, respectively.
Sequentially, industrial output edged up a seasonally adjusted 0.2 percent in December. For the entire year 2012, industrial output was higher by a working-day adjusted 4.3 percent compared to the previous year.
