Anthera Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (ANTH) said Friday that it has priced an underwritten public offering of about 60.6 million shares of its common stock, offered at a price of $0.66 per share.
The company estimates that the gross proceeds from the offering, before deducting underwriting discounts and commissions and other estimated offering expenses payable by Anthera, will be $40.0 million.
In addition, the company has granted the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional about 9.1 million shares of common stock.
The offering is expected to close on or about January 30.
The company plans to use the net proceeds from the offering for general corporate purposes.
