PulteGroup, Inc. (PHM) Thursday said fourth-quarter profit surged, helped mainly by higher revenues. Both earnings and revenues came in above analysts' expectations.
Net income for the quarter jumped to $58.74 million or $0.15 per share from $13.82 million or $0.04 per share in the same period last year.
On average, 22 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.31 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Revenues totaled $1.567 billion, up from $1.26 billion last year. Analysts expected revenues of $1.50 billion.
